About

Sarah Teck

As a health coach, my role is to support you with your personal health goals, whether you are struggling to incorporate a change prescribed by a health practitioner or one guided by your own heart.

My vision of health is comprehensive—we can discuss any topic related to your personal and professional goals—and I will provide direction and help identify goals related to your health journey. Sometimes it can be a challenge to find support for preventative health measures and chronic health conditions, including chronic stress. Also, my role can be to support you between appointments with your healthcare provider in order to achieve your health goals and work towards prevention or reversal of illness.

Testimonials

I know I’m a capable person, but without Sarah walking alongside me, I’m not sure how far along I’d be in my health journey — or to be honest– what state I would currently be in. Being able to have honest conversations, bounce ideas off of her, and get tips to better care for myself has been invaluable. Sarah is remarkable.

Before– I felt overwhelmed with my health To-Do list.

After– I feel like I am making progress. With the particular health journey, I’m on, it’s easy to adopt a negative outlook, but the opposite is happening. I’m markedly more optimistic right now. I’m breathing more. My thoughts are changing. I met with my mentor today, and she told me my energy was brighter. That felt good to hear. I know a shift is happening. And this will float me for all that remains ahead. I didn’t know what to expect other than getting support in some capacity.

Support…doesn’t that seem like such a simple request? I think it is, but in this world, it’s not always readily found especially depending on the demographics you represent. So when it’s there, big or small, for me it has a profound impact. Honestly, I’m just so grateful for Sarah.

Sarah is an excellent coach because I felt there was such a natural flow during our sessions, it felt very organic. It was super helpful in the context of having a new vision for my professional activities, for something I feel passionate about but still find myself at the early stage. It really helped to structure my thoughts and to build a clear plan of action. And most importantly, to stick to the action plan and be reminded about the initial aims, mission and priorities. Thank you so much Sarah for your valuable time and input in my personal and professional growth

There’s so much I can say about Sarah Teck and I’ve only been working with her a short time. Her guidance has been valuable to me in many ways. I feel more positive, uplifted, more organized, and productive. She is able to keep me on track in our sessions. I feel anyone would be lucky to work with Sarah. She really helps her clients hone in on bringing out the best in themselves. What can be better than a compassionate coach to help one succeed? I have writing projects that I felt were hard to tackle, and while I still struggle with things that block me, Sarah has given me tools and resources to give me that extra push. She is so sweet and I feel that I have gained a wonderful new friend. If you choose Sarah Teck as a coach, you will not be disappointed.

Sarah has extreme empathy and care that you can feel in every session. For me, regular ongoing sessions helped me as check-in points on things that I had already been working on. Sarah was able to reflect back to me on my own progress and provide guidance and suggestions as I continued on my path. She also led me through a Visionary session that helped me refine and define where I see myself and want to be which has helped me refine and take action in my small day-to-day and week-to-week actions to get there.

My coach helped centre me through a turbulent time in my life. She helped me gain focus and figure out a plan for my life. She was always very empathetic and understanding. It can be hard to connect to people on video calls but she made it easy. She was very easy to talk to. I feel more centred now. I am ever so thankful!

Melodie

My sessions with Sarah helped calm my racing thoughts and motivated me to push through by taking small actions to work towards my goal. She is a great listener and asked me questions that made me reflect on my situation with a positive mindset. Thank you Sarah!

Bio

I grew up dancing and dreaming of becoming a marine biologist. A class called Body and Earth at Middlebury College beautifully melded my interests in biology, our planet, and the human body. At the time my mother was battling stage IV ovarian cancer, and through this class, I began researching the science behind treatment for this terrible disease—including scientifically-based alternative therapies. Unfortunately, my mother died without having the chance to pursue any alternative therapies, but I continued to dedicate my energy to researching the cutting-edge science on prevention and early detection of cancer. Five years later my father died of a rare disease called cerebral amyloid angiopathy which caused multiple strokes before his death.

Sarah Yoga

I believe my parents could have benefited from greater preventative and proactive healthcare,  including support on making lifestyle changes. Their illnesses inspired me to learn more about how holistic, preventative medicine and the advocacy of health coaching could prevent others from experiencing the onset and progression of the disease.

In particular, my interest in functional medicine stems from my interest in its investigative and scientific approach—seeking to address the root cause of disease, symptoms, or even patterns in lab testing or patient history. Thus, patients can hopefully experience a reversal of symptoms or anomalies before they become severe issues or diseases.

During my career in marine biological research, I continued practicing dance, yoga, and meditation and became a certified yoga teacher. Although my passion for the conservation of our oceans never waned, sharing and expanding my knowledge of holistic health became a pressing need for those who sought my support and for me. I am in awe of modern medicine for its ability to provide life-saving treatments and procedures, and I would not be alive today without expert medical interventions. However, I wish that my parents and I had experienced the additional support from a health coach to navigate our specific medical issues. Through health coaching, I seek to empower people to make changes in their lives to enhance and sustain their health.
